You know how sometimes you get that feeling in your stomach that something good is about to happen?
Well this is the feeling I got when we arrived to stay at the brand new purpose built accessible accommodation – U City, in the heart of Adelaide.
The feeling was magnified, because usually when we arrive somewhere new, we are filled trepidation…until we lay eyes on the actual room we are staying in.
At U City we could just about pick a room based on the view we wanted, not just floor plan. It was incredible. Or as our seven year old said “this is real luxury!”
Our apartment had three double bedrooms and two (accessible) bathrooms designed for independent access. And it was perfect. Easy to check in – straight from your car if your driving. And pretty much everything, other than the kitchen sink – which can be adjusted with a winding lever, can be controlled with the touch on a screen.
The location is fantastic too. Our visit coincided with the festivities of the Tour Down Under which bases itself in Victoria Square, and the start of the Chinese New Year which was celebrated in Chinatown, near the Adelaide Central Markets, just a few minutes walk from the apartments.
One of the things we loved most was the views, unlike so many hotels and apartment buildings, U City has found itself with a huge amount of space on either side, meaning you get views for miles! So if you didn’t feel like leaving the building, you would still enjoy the location.
Other things we loved, comfy beds, hot showers and all the technology! Plus U City offered up apartments for people with disability that were affected by the bush fires. That makes them pretty good in our book.
