International Day of People with Disabilities (IDPwD) is a United Nations sanctioned day that is celebrated internationally. It aims to increase public awareness, understanding and acceptance of people with disability and celebrate the achievements and contributions of people with disability.
The Good Scout will participate in the International Day of People with Disability event in Adelaide, hosted by Brain Injury SA, Paraplegic & Quadriplegic Association of SA and Lifetime Support Authority (LSA). Look out for us in our Good Scout gear and come and say hi!
Where: Victoria Square, Adelaide City
When: Friday 30 November – 11am to 2pm
Scott will take to the stage between 12 and 1pm, talking all things related to his spinal cord injury, life in a chair, his achievements on and off the field, including what he is planning next.
See some amazing performers and speakers, see the IDPwD SA Award winners, browse over 40 stalls and grab some lunch!
If you have any questions regarding the event, please contact Jo Sharp from the LSA Lifetime.Support@sa.gov.au or (08) 8463 6131.
Our contribution to celebrate IDPwD will be recognised through sharing our list of 101 Accessible Australian Adventures! Make sure you have signed up to be amongst the first to get the list into your hot little hands. Official release on Monday 3 December 2018.
You may also find us chillin’ on the lawns at the Kyd-x Sounds n Vibes Festival, Saturday 1 December at the Wayville Showgrounds.
PLUS Scott and I are guest speakers at the City of Playford Celebration of Ability event Wednesday 5 December, phew…it’s a busy time of year!
See you around!
