Hervey Bay Whale Watch Quick Cat II


Quick Cat II was operated by Brian and Jill Perry for 30 years who founded the industry in 1987. The company was sold to the Peaker family in 2017. They offer half-day whale watching cruises morning and afternoon during the whale season, which runs from mid July to early November. Quick Cat II was launched in 2003 and has been recently refurbished and has not only set the standards for whale watching vessels to follow, but has been accredited with Advanced Ecotourism ECO Certification. Quick Cat II guarantees whale sightings and Whale Swims are now also offered (conditions apply). Quick Cat II is a state of the art whale watching vessel with wheelchair and pram access allowing everyone to see and hear the whales that visit the pristine waters of Hervey Bay for four months each year. It is non-smoking vessel. Quick Cat II provides a courtesy pick-up and drop-off from accommodation around Hervey Bay. Complimentary morning and afternoon tea is offered. Pies, sausage rolls and snacks are for sale on board. Quick Cat II is also fully licensed. Cruises depart the Great Sandy Straits Marina at the Urangan Boat Harbour in Hervey Bay where their floating office is situated.

Quick Cat II has 5 viewing decks on 3 different levels to ensure uncrowded and unobstructed viewing while Whale Watching. The boat has many vantage points including some of our decks being close to the water and our 3 higher decks to give you a different perspective of the whales.

Quick Cat II has amphitheatre style seating on the foredecks.

Quick Cat II has easy wheelchair and pram access all around the main deck with no obstructions allowing you to sit right at the front of the boat on both sides for an up close viewing of our friendly Humpbacks.

The tours that enable you to get in the water, are via the back deck where there is a ladder leading into the water. If you enter the water you will need to be able to get yourself back on the deck.
