SeaLink, Kangaroo Island’s vehicle and passenger ferry service operates daily (except Christmas Day) between Cape Jervis (two hours south of Adelaide) and Penneshaw, Kangaroo Island.

SeaLink operates two large, modern vehicle and passenger ferries, SeaLion 2000 and Spirit of Kangaroo Island, with the journey taking just 45 minutes for the 16km crossing. Grab a coffee or snack from the on-board fully licenced café, relax and take advantage of the beautiful views, or if you are on the go use our free WI-FI.

ACCESS

Boarding ramps are in position for all passengers. Assistance may be required due to the incline of the boarding ramp.

There is an accessible restroom on board each ferry. Our tip – use the bathrooms in the terminal before boarding and avoid using the bathroom on board due to the rocking motion making it hard to get to and from the bathroom and transferring in and out of your chair.

Electric wheelchairs are available to assist those not able to navigate the boarding ramp, booking is required.

Accessible bathrooms are available in both Terminals.

HOW TO BOOK

Ensure you make SeaLink aware when making your book and when you check in. You can book online, on the phone or via email.

Please contact our Sales Centre on 13 13 01 (within Australia) or email bookings@sealink.com.au for guidelines on mobility assistance.

GOOD TO KNOW

If the driver of the vehicle uses a wheelchair they will be unable to load the car onto the ferry as access to the passenger decks is via stairs only, however you can stay in your car for the length of the trip, staff are on hand to assist loading vehicles. Alternatively a passenger with access needs can be dropped near the Terminal and then load the vehicle as per normal.

Dogs can travel on the ferry.
