Step inside the wondrous world of The Station Store.
The Station Store is based on the original outback emporiums that stocked everything and were a highlight for station folk coming into town for shopping. The historic building, which dates back to 1880s, is stocked full of outback clothing, gifts, homewares, local crafts and souvenirs.
Leave time for your Old Time Pioneer Portrait and pop next door for home-baked outback treats at The Welcome Home Café and Tearoom.
The Outback Pioneers Cobb & Co experience leaves from behind The Station Store and their booking office is next door in the Welcome Home building.
Pioneer Portrait Session:
The Station Store is also home to their Old Time Pioneer Portrait studio and a wonderful wardrobe of pioneer costumes for you to transform yourself into a character from the outback past.
Wander through the store, out to the courtyard at the back and you’ll spy their collection of all sorts of outback memorabilia including an extensive collection of old domestic irons. Even in the early pioneer times, living in the outback meant dressing up to go to town, to church or visiting another station and an iron was essential to get the edge!
WHY ISN’T THE GOOD ACCESS BADGE TURNED ON?
Some listings are here because we think they’re pretty cool and you should know about them! And some, we just haven’t quite got enough info to make the ‘Good Access’ call yet.. so to answer the question, a business could be listed on our site if:
A. The business indicates they have some accessible facilities, but we haven’t quite gotten around to chatting through the details, stay tuned! If you’ve been here, leave a review and let us know about your experience!
B. We have spoken to their team.. the facilities aren’t quite what we’d call accessible BUT we’ve provided you with ‘good to know’ tips in case you’re keen to give it a go anyway!
