A family of five (Bron, Andrew, Cooper, Pepper and Elwood), based in Melbourne, Australia who love to travel near and far. They travel with young kids aged 12, 9 & 6. Cooper has Cerebral Palsy and uses a variety of mobility devices, while travelling he uses a Quickie Zippie manual wheelchair. Each family member contributes their stories to the blog in unique ways, sharing their travels, experiences, hints and tips to inspire others to travel.

FREE WHEEL WEEKENDS
Freewheel Weekends (FWW) is put together mainly by Ryan Smith. Ryan is an award-winning graphic designer based in Melbourne with a thirst for travel. After travelling solo to New York, Tokyo, Berlin, Austin, San Fransisco and recently Scandinavia, he decided to collate and create travel notes about his home town, Melbourne. The goal of FWW is to raise awareness, provide a service and inspire independent travellers. It is aimed at users of manual wheelchairs who are predominantly independent.

A BACKPACK, A CHAIR AND A BEARD
Eamon Wood is from New Zealand and describes himself as ‘just a young guy in a chair, travelling around the world. Expanding my culture, learning about myself and other people. I want to inspire other people, not just people that are disabled. Inspire them to do what they want to do’. Eamon has been in a wheelchair since he was 4 after a car accident. He’s a lover of sports playing basketball for the under 20s New Zealand team and later travelling with the mens team to South Korea and Thailand. He was ranked #1 in tennis in NZ and hit top 100 in the world. He studied Engineering at ARA Institute of Canterbury and was the first person in a wheelchair to complete the degree. He has some great stories to tell having backpacked around the world! He plays guitar, is learning french and lives by the motto ‘live once, live big’!

CURB FREE WITH COREY LEE
Based in the US, at the age of two Corey was diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (type 2), but that certainly never diminished his desire to explore the world. Having travelled extensively across 6 continents his blog is a great resource for a whole range of destinations and experiences world wide! Travelling with a powered wheelchair, Corey admits traveling isn’t always easy… ‘My wheelchair charger blew up (literally – sparks were flying) in Europe, I got trapped on a burning bus once, and I’ve even been attacked by a hippo in South Africa’.

Sylvia Longmire is a service-disabled veteran, mother, author, consultant, entrepreneur, world traveler, and the former Ms. Wheelchair USA 2016. She traveled extensively from an early age, and during her time as an Air Force officer and Special Agent. After she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2005, her ability to walk started to deteriorate. Her addiction to leisure travel has taken her (and her scooter) as far as the deserts of Dubai and the glaciers of Alaska.
